We welcome KIWA and Masao Nomura as this year’s Festival Navigators. Through the film festival, they will introduce the enjoyment of movies to the younger generation.
 

KIWA

Profile
Born in Kanagawa prefecture on May 19, 1999. She spent her childhood in Amsterdam and Bangkok due to her father’s job. She started working in show business in 2014 when she modeled in a popular fashion magazine “ar”. She was then chosen as an image character for KIRIN “Gogo no Kocha” drink, and is currently appearing in its TV advert. As a keen tennis player, she was ranked the 3rd in Girl’s Doubles at the Kanto Regional Junior Tournament. She rallied with a professional tennis player, Kei Nishikori, in the Air Weave TV advert, which attracted a lot of attention. She is due to make her first appearance in a film next year. She hopes to become a borderless actress and have positive involvement with films which she loves.
 

Masao Nomura

Profile
Born in 1978 in Turin, Italy, and brought up in Shiga prefecture. He learned Italian at Osaka University of Foreign Studies and specialized in film theory. He left Osaka University graduate school after obtaining credits for the second half of the doctorate course. He researched the relationship between language and images, based on Pasolini’s film theory. He works as a DJ for many radio programs such as “CINEMA Dolce Vita”, a film program on InterFM, and he runs “Kyoto Doughnut Club”, a group to showcase Italian culture. He is also a literature and film subtitle translator.
