An animated film adaptation of the winning entry of the first Animeka Taisho Award. Brilliant rays of colorful light float in a space devoid of gravity – “The Box of Wisdom”. A space inhabited by multiple worlds, timelines and people, where Dual and Dorothy’s role is to battle encroaching viruses. An infected world must be deleted. One day, Dual and Dorothy discover a new virus attacking a young girl. They save the girl and quietly wait for her to awaken. When she finally awakens, the girl who calls herself “Remo” has only one thing to say: “I have to return to the flower garden…”

Masashi Ishihama

Director Masashi Ishihama is known for his distinctively “cool” visuals and unique worldview. His talent is showcased in works such as “Shin Sekai Yori” and the opening storyboard of “Attack on Titan”. In “Shin Sekai Yori”, Ishihama adapted an epic SF novel into a striking animated film. He brings his edgy directorial style to the original theatrical anime, “Garakowa”.
