102min. French Color | 2015 France |

Set in a small village in southern Iran. Hibat was born as one of many children in a large family. His siblings each goes their own way, but Hibat becomes interested in the anti-government movement. He is arrested by the repressive government and incarcerated for a long period of time, but that does not hold back Hibat.

Popular French comedian Kheiron portrays his own father as a young man in his feature film as a director. An Iranian activist who protested against the government, his father defected to France in 1983. Kheiron, only a year old at the time, worked hard to adapt to the new environment and was blessed with parents who struggled to give him the best possible education. After working as a teacher for several years, Kheiron turned to performance art, winning popularity for his unique way of laughing off troubles. While many recent European films deal with the issue of immigration, this work is notable for its humorous and positive outlook. Approaching the issue from an immigrant’s viewpoint also makes it an epochal film.
