Introduction
Little girl Yangchan Lhamo’s shepherd father Guru has a motorbike accident. The villagers think it must be bad karma coming back to him from having neglected his own father, a well-respected monk. When Guru’s father falls ill, Guru finally brings Yangchan to meet her grandfather for the first time. After Guru finds a holy stone, Yangchan’s mother gets pregnant, but she thinks the growing belly is a bad omen. Feeling less and less understood by her parents, she grows affectionate to her orphan lamb.
