Introduction
Musical comedy based on the Kabuki "Kanjincho" and the Noh "Ataka". Akira Kurosawa wanted to make a film in the Age of Provincial Wars, but shoot it in a studio due to war time shortages. Released immediately after the GHQ occupation.

Born in 1910. He directed 30 films after his debut Sanshiro Sugata (1943). He has been internationally acclaimed after Rashomon won Golden Lion at the Venice and Academy Honorary Award in 1951. His films, pursuing the very foundation of films as composite art with thorough direction to penetrate into people's mind, beautiful artwork, and impressive use of music, continue to be admired both in Japan and abroad even after his death.
