Introduction

Inspired by the incredible events surrounding an attempt to reach the summit of the world’s highest mountain, EVEREST documents the awe-inspiring journey of two different expeditions challenged beyond their limits by a fierce snowstorm. Director
Baltasar Kormákur

An actor, producer, and director whose work spans theater, movies, and TV. In 2000, he wrote, directed, starred in and produced 101 Reykjavik which became an international hit and won the Discovery Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. The Deep earned 11 Edda Awards. Since 2008, he has directed several feature films in the U.S. including smash hits movies of Contraband 2 Guns.
