Yasuo Furuhata
After graduating Tokyo University, he entered TOEI COMPANY in 1957. He has directed around 50 feature films regardless of genres. He often worked with Ken Takakura, and he is one of the directors who can make best use of Takakura's acting skills and character. He won Japanese Academy Award for both Best Director and Best Screenplay for POPPOYA-RAILROAD MAN- in 1999.
