Introduction

Three sisters—Sachi, Yoshino and Chika—live together in a large house in Kamakura. When their father—absent from the family home for the last 15 years—dies, they travel to the countryside for his funeral, and meet their shy teenage half-sister. Bonding quickly with the orphaned Suzu, they invite her to live with them. Suzu eagerly agrees, and a new life of joyful discovery begins for the four siblings...

Director
Hirokazu Kore-eda

Born in 1962. In 1995, his directorial debut, Maborosi won the Venice Golden Osella. In 2004, Nobody Knows received the Cannes Best Actor Award. Since then, he has been acclaimed internationally with the films including Still Walking (2008), Air Doll (2009) and I Wish (2011). In 2013, Like Father, Like Son won the Cannes Jury Prize. He launched his production company BUN-BUKU in 2014.
